Reimagining Sheriff Street Park

A Playful City partnered closely with community champions, local organisations and residents to reimagine Sheriff Street Park (Rainbow Park) in Dublin’s North East Inner City through a CSR funding initiative.

Running from March to October 2024, the project engaged the community through workshops, surveys and prototype events, all aimed at transforming the park into a more inclusive, accessible and vibrant space.

This collaborative approach ensured that the voices of those who live, work, and play nearby shaped a shared vision for a welcoming, multifunctional public asset.

The project addressed key challenges such as restricted access, safety concerns, lack of amenities, and limited community use. With input from over a dozen local organisations representing hundreds of community members, the initiative developed actionable recommendations focused on revitalising locked areas, enhancing green spaces, activating the park’s perimeter, and boosting ongoing programming and engagement.
